The E-passport, also called biometric passports, will carry a chip that will have entire personal information, including fingerprints, of the holder in a chip.
These passports will initially be launched for diplomats and high-ranking government and common people will be entitled for it a year later.
The new passport will carry a chip that will have entire personal information, including finger-prints, of the holder in a chip.
The step is aimed at curbing misuse of passport, including through impersonation and make immigration process easier.
This initiative is amongst other government initiatives to rein in corruption. E-passports and other such initiatives aim to nullify the middle-man who charges you a sum for getting the passport made or other ID’s made even if you have incomplete documents
