Elform announces the introduction of the IdentAlink BioPassportTM Enterprise Server

Aug-26-03

Elform announces the introduction of the IdentAlink BioPassportTM Enterprise Server for replacing computer passwords with fingerprint and/or face recognition biometrics. Users can log on their PCs and access anything that requires username/password. BioPassport eliminates the cost of password administration and makes systems more secure. BioPassport operates in either a client or standalone environment.

Here is a list of unique BioPassport features:

· The BioPassport Active Directory Server software does not require you to buy another server and keep track of a parallel biometric directory. BioPassport is a plug in to the existing Active Directory. Each user profile will still have a list of privileges and password, but BioPassport ties user passwords to the user’s biometric and replaces them with randomly created passwords that change at every logon.
· The J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) Server software can control multiple Active Directories over a Wide Area Network. This type of architecture sets no limit on the number of users.
· Although BioPassport software operates with multiple types of fingerprint sensors, Elform recommends the BMF pressure sensitive fingerprint sensor because of its ability to enroll hard to read fingerprints.
· There are interfaces available to Time & Attendance and Access Control hardware.
· It is not necessary to buy the software before it is installed and tested on a server or a standalone computer.
· Both the Active Directory Server and J2EE server support PKI and can authenticate users from outside Authentication Authorities who may or may not be using biometrics.
· IdentAlink Secure Communication enables users to send 512 bit encrypted emails that can only be decrypted with a biometrics, and files and directories may also be encrypted and decrypted with biometrics.
