Iridian Announces Proof Positive Certification for The Oki IRISPASS-WG

MOORESTOWN, N.J. -Iridian Technologies today announced it has awarded Proof Positive certification for the Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. IRISPASS(R)-WG, a fully automatic, two-eye iris recognition camera system that is ideally suited to high-volume, public-use applications such as air transportation and border crossings.
The Proof Positive(TM) hardware and software certification program from Iridian Technologies ratifies that iris recognition cameras and software solutions meet critical standards for performance, interoperability, safety, security, scalability, usability and reliability. Iris recognition is the most accurate, non-invasive and easy-to-use biometric for secure identification.
"The IRISPASS-WG is the third camera to achieve certification for PrivateID and Proof Positive compliance," said Tarvinder Sembhi, Director of Product Marketing for Iridian. "The government and transportation markets in particular have been eager to leverage this third generation iris recognition technology as it allows for complete interoperability between cameras and brings the accuracy of iris recognition to a highly flexible solution. Certification includes a series of formal audits and evaluations, including compliance with Iridian's PrivateID(R) and KnoWho(R) application programming interfaces (APIs), cryptography and countermeasures. Proof Positive certified cameras are interoperable with other certified cameras, not only from the same vendor, but from other vendors as well. Certified cameras easily interface with Iridian's KnoWho server software for maximum performance in searches against millions of records.
