ImageWare Selected By West Haven PD To Provide Digital Booking And Browser Based Investigative Solutions

Imageware CCS Speeds Investigations with Real-Time Search and Retrieval Functionality; Eliminates Redundant Data Entry and Promotes Information Sharing
SAN DIEGO ImageWare Systems Inc. (AMEX: IW) today announced that the West Haven Police Department, Conn., has selected the company's Crime Capture System(R) (CCS) and Crime Web(TM) to speed investigations and enable real-time data accessibility. ImageWare's Crime Capture System(R) (CCS) is an easy-to-use digital imaging solution for automated capture, storage and retrieval of booking images and related information. Crime Web(TM) is a browser-based solution for conducting investigative searches via an Intranet.

"West Haven PD is committed to providing professional, knowledgeable and thorough law enforcement services to ensure the safety and well being of our community," said Sgt. Joe Wynosky of West Haven PD. "We firmly believe ImageWare's digital booking and investigative solution will empower our officers with state-of-the-art technology to better address our community's mission-critical policing needs."

ImageWare will provide a complete digital booking, identification and investigative solution that will enable West Haven PD to easily capture images including mug shots, scars, marks and tattoos, in addition to related text information. CCS users can quickly retrieve this information to create photo lineups, digital mug books and generate wanted posters. Users can also print employee, visitor or inmate ID cards and wristbands with photos and bar codes. With ImageWare's Crime Web, officers in the field will be able to access the central CCS database and conduct real-time searches; quickly retrieve booking information; and easily create photo lineups and mug books via the department's mobile data system.

All data and images in CCS and Crime Web will be automatically synchronized with the department's current records management system (RMS), which eliminates duplicate data entry and further streamlines the booking process by enabling real-time data sharing.

"We are very excited to be working with the West Haven PD which is the fifth law enforcement organization in the State of Connecticut that has selected our CCS solution," said Joe Schuler, ImageWare's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "The ability to search, retrieve and share data in real-time is at the forefront of requirements for law enforcement agencies looking to streamline their investigative processes and better protect the public more efficiently."

The company also offers add-on facial recognition and digital composite sketching modules that further speed the investigative process by enabling officers to easily create a digital suspect composite and search against an agency's mug shot database for potential matches. Facial recognition searches can also be conducted from scanned and imported images.
