Tacoma - SAGEM Morpho, Inc., industry leader in multi-biometric technologies, introduces Morpho(tm) RapID, a mobile handheld biometric terminal, developed for law enforcement, transportation and homeland security applications. Law Enforcement users can acquire a fingerprint image and remotely perform 1-to-many identifications against a watch list or 1-to-1 comparisons for identity verification. Morpho(tm) RapID matching accuracy is achieved through the forensic quality optical fingerprint sensor and the SAGEM on-board AFIS-quality fingerprint algorithms.

Morpho(tm) RapID was developed for use in hostile environments; the terminal is sealed and rugged. The mobile handheld terminal is shock resistant and can withstand a fall of four feet to a concrete surface. Morpho(tm) RapID meets IP 54 qualifications for resistance to dust and water. The unit is powered by an extended life lithium-ion removable battery and supports multiple wireless interfaces, including GSM, GPRS as well as WiFi true wireless connectivity. The Morpho(tm) RapID has an internal memory that can store up to 100,000 fingerprint records.
