Pacific Biometrics, Inc. Laboratory Receives Accreditation from College of American Pathologists

SEATTLE-June 27, 2003—Pacific Biometrics, Inc. (PBI) (OTCBB:PBME) has received renewal of its accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent on-site inspection.

During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examined PBI's laboratory records and quality management procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examined the entire staff's qualifications, the laboratory's equipment records, facilities, safety program and record, as well as the overall management of the laboratory. This stringent inspection program is designed to specifically insure the highest standard of clinical laboratory testing.

Dr. Tim Carlson, Laboratory Director for PBI was advised of this national recognition and congratulated by CAP for the excellence of the services being provided at PBI. The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s, is recognized by the federal government as being equal to or stronger than the government's own inspection program. PBI is one of more than 6,000 CAP-accredited laboratories nationwide.
