BORDER CONTROL SYSTEMS
New requirements in transportation security demand secure ID and travel documents. Morpho holds a predominant role in the market for biometric passports and the printing of secure travel documents.

Within the scope of current efforts to increase transportation security, Morpho takes an active role in fighting against identity fraud, most notably by offering secure ID documents based on biometric technologies.Morpho produces biometric visas, passports and other documents that cannot be falsified. When a passenger requests an e-passport or biometric visa, personal biometric data has to be registered. Morpho offers a diverse range of registration solutions, comprising software and data acquisition stations. Tailored to each operator’s specific requirements, these systems can then be used to enter both alphanumeric information (name, date of birth, etc.) and biometric data (photo, fingerprints, iris). 

IDENTIFICATION SOLUTIONS
With more than 100 million biometric identity documents delivered worldwide, Morpho (Safran group) is the world leader in secure identification solutions.

By "identification solutions" we mean being able to recognize individuals and produce physical documents that express their identity and rights. Systems based on public records, namely the issuance of passports or ID cards, are a good example. Morpho also works for a number of governments, and manages systems to issue voter cards, driver licenses, visas, or healthcare system cards, such as the Vitale card in France.
Secure identification documents also enable managing transactions concerning the bearer’s rights, including: crossing borders, based on the presentation of a secure passport and possibly a visa; participation in elections; admission to a social security system; access to a phone network via a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card, or purchases of goods and services using a bank card.

AFIS SOLUTIONS
With nearly 40% of the market, Morpho is the global leader in automated fingerprint identification systems (AFIS). Electronic and digital fingerprint processing solutions were first introduced in police forces. Morpho and its American subsidiary MorphoTrak pioneered this transition, based on the widespread deployment of automated fingerprint identification systems (AFIS).

Morpho offers scalable platforms, capable of adding sophisticated new functions as they are developed. Its systems can analyze either fingerprints (AFIS), or both palm and fingerprints (AFPIS). The latest systems can integrate other characteristics, such as the iris or the face – and Morpho is the world leader in this sector as well.

Morpho offers identification systems that only provide access to protected spaces – whether physical or virtual – to authorized persons.

Access control may be physical, meaning access to an actual site which must be protected for one reason or another, or it may be logical, meaning the protection of digital contents or transmissions, whether via wired or wireless networks. Morpho has developed solutions addressing each of these aspects, which are often based on a combination of different technologies.
The identification and authentification of fingerprints can be used in both applications, to control access at physical gateways into a sensitive area; or to control access at digital terminals.
