IdentiMetrics is a privately held company with their headquarters just outside of Philadelphia and they were founded in 2002. Their finger scanning ID system is the leader in biometric finger scanning identification in schools and their system is now used in 35 states, Canada, Australia, Japan, Central America and Africa. Their system was specifically designed for schools by educators and easily integrates with your existing software in order to provide an identification system that works as well with one application as it does with all your applications.

Biometrics is a method of identifying people based on physiological or behavioral characteristics such as face, fingerprint, hand geometry, handwriting, iris, retina, vein and voice – in other words, anything that is a part of you. It is not a new technology as, believe it or not, the ancient Egyptians used some bodily characteristics to identify their workers to make sure they did not claim more provisions than they were entitled to. And Chinese merchants around the fourteenth century used palm and foot prints to identify children so this technique in hospitals today is certainly not a new one.

identiFi Standard™
identiFi Standard is a middleware application that brings the security, accuracy and convenience of biometric identification to any application that accepts standard text input from a keyboard or other device simulating a keyboard (barcode scanners, swipe cards or PIN pads) or that reads standard text input from a serial port. Simply install identiFi, plug in the scanner, enroll the people and start using your application. identiFi starts working immediately to provide accurate and speedy identification to your application.

identiFi Pro™
identiFi Pro includes all of the powerful features of identiFi Standard plus the ability to manage the communications between identiFi and one or more of the idM Series 500 Ethernet finger scanners. This enables you to operate a scanning location that can be used anywhere that you have network access. identiFi Pro can be run on any computer on the network and provides a simple interface so that you can easily monitor the status of each idM Series 500 finger scanner and its connection to identiFi.

idM Series 100 Finger Scanner (USB)
The idM Series100 USB finger scanner uses advanced CMOS sensor technology with a precise optical system to deliver a superior finger image. It can capture an almost un-distorted raw finger image into a PC in 100 milliseconds. The finger is illuminated by 4 infra-red LEDs during scanning and the light intensity is automatically adjusted according to the finger scanning characteristics (wet, dry, blurred, etc) to optimize the quality of the captured finger image. The idM Series 100 finger scanner works flawlessly with little fingers and wet fingers, making it a perfect hardware solution for school cafeterias.

idM Series 500 Finger Scanner (Ethernet)
With a high resolution optical system and the latest biometric technology, the idM Series 500 Ethernet finger scanner provides a secure and convenient identification solution anywhere where using a PC is cumbersome. It’s wall mountable and a perfect hardware solution at the entrance of a building, classroom and even as part of a vending solution. The idM Series 500 can be connected as a cluster in a LAN with the finger scan templates stored and recognized centrally in the biometric database.
