The system finds and images the iris of the person who merely has to look at the unit for approximately 2 seconds from within a 2 meter distance, and then biometric matching algorithms authenticate the individual and allow or prohibit access.

Users do not need to be up close and directly in front of the reader to have their irises scanned.AOptix Technologies adaptive optic advancements allow for three dimensional motions and distortions in the iris recognition process while preserving quality images for identity verification.

Adaptive optics offered by AOptix Technologies creates the ability for closed loop control. This means that the person whose eyes are being scanned is not being inconvenienced. The scanner is continuously adjusting and focusing itself to the target.

The only laser used for AOptix iris scanner is internal. There is no outside exposure to lasers or personal exposure to laser technology. Only iris illumination through LEDs images the iris of the person’s eye.

AOptix Technologies InSight™ unit is effective for a range of climates and temperatures. According to the specifications, it is guaranteed to function from between -20 to +45º Celsius, and makes adjustments for distortions in the atmosphere.

Resolutions of scanned iris images are at 640 x 480 pixels, in grey scale. This allows the technology to be integrated to a variety of platforms and databases which makes AOptix Technologies suitable for large scale security needs for a diverse range of markets.
