In Record Time SAFE ID Solutions Completes Entire Passport Solution For The Of Iraq Ministry Of Interior - 27th October, 2009

Unterhaching, Germany –The Ministry of Interior of Iraq awarded SAFE ID Solutions to design and implement a state-of-the-art passport solution. As sole contractor SAFE ID provides the entire solution including hardware, personalization management software, operator training as well as service and maintenance for the Iraqi personalization center that opened in April 2009. The project emphasizes the security of the document and people’s identities as well as the implementation of a scalable and adaptable system. That enables the Iraq Passport Department to operate the personalization system independently and increases the personalization capacity to more than 10.000 passports per day.

Within three months after contract signature a delegation of officers and technicians got a comprehensive training at SAFE ID’s headquarters for several weeks and had detailed inspection of the project progress. After successful factory acceptance test the system was shipped to Baghdad in December 2008 where the setup, training and joint operation was conducted within the first quarter of 2009.

In spite of the challenging environment of Iraq, SAFE ID achieved full customer satisfaction of the MOI due to the project implementation in record time that based on close cooperation and the strong support and alignment of the Passport Department.

The citizens of Iraq now benefit from the alignment to international security standards and a faster application and passport issuance process. Since the personalization center was opened by the Honorable Minister of Interior Mr. Bolani, it has been inspected by delegates from the EU, the US and other countries. All of them congratulated the Iraqi MOI to its modern system and processes, which complies with the latest security standards acknowledged worldwide. With the integration of biometric traits in the Iraqi passport SAFE ID increases the document security.
