Biometrics Experts from Defense and Government Presenting at Biometrics for National Security and Defense Summit - 12th December, 2011

A range of biometrics experts from defense, government and private sectors will gather next month at IDGA’s 5th Annual Biometrics for National Security and Defense Summit: Enhancing Identity Technology, Collection and Protection, to be held January 23-25, 2012 in Washington, DC.

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) market is expected to grow to more than $12 billion by 2014, from $2.6 billion in 2006, as federal, state and local governments look to discover new biometric technologies that will enhance their operations. IDGA’s Biometric Summit will highlight current advancements and initiatives in the field of biometrics and their implementation in theater.

Leading figures within the biometrics arena will discuss current and future biometric initiatives, capabilities and technologies; interoperability requirements for biometric technologies, biometric applications in theatre for Army and Navy; enhancing effectiveness and efficiency of biometrics initiatives and sharing data across services and agencies.

Top conference speakers and agencies include:
  • John Boyd, Director of Defense Biometrics & Forensics, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Research & Engineering)
  • Shonnie Lyon, Deputy Director, DHS US-VISIT Program
  • Christopher Miles, Biometrics Program Manager, DHS
  • James Loudermilk, Senior Level Technologist, FBI Science and Technology Branch
  • David Temoshok, Director, Federal Identity Management, GSA Office of Governmentwide Policy
The Summit will focus on advances that may be implemented sooner than ever expected. “The advent of practical DNA collection and analysis while-you-wait is on the near-term horizon for military, some immigration and other applications,” said the FBI’s James Loudermilk, “and highly reliable face recognition systems for access control and other applications are likely over the next 5 to 10 years.”

Mr. Loudermilk will be speaking at the Biometrics Summit in January. Download the brochure for speaker and session information here: http://biometricsevent.com/Event.aspx?id=611016
