Can you please provide our readers with a brief background of the company?

IDTECK
With diversified know-how that comes from 20 years of experience in the security industry, IDTECK focuses on manufacturing products in the areas of access control and time & attendance systems based on the innovative technologies of RFID, biometrics and embedded OS. From its establishment in 1989 to this date, IDTECK has been devoted to designing and developing diversified technology and has become a manufacturing leader of security products for businesses, homes, factories and other variety of applications. IDTECK continues its product development and marketing & sales efforts to become the “one-stop solution” for security needs.

We currently hold ten international patents on biometric recognition and access control technologies to provide distinctive products and services to our customers and differentiate our brand from others in the market. Also, all of our products are certified by UL, CE, FCC, MIC and RoHS to meet the international standards.

IDTECK has a broad product base. Can you tell us about your Biometric line-up?

IDTECK
On the top of our biometrics product line-up, we have the Multi Modal, the dual biometrics combination of fingerprint and facial recognition. As the device only grants access when the two biometrics features of the users are successfully authorized, it is undeniably the best solution for areas where highest level of security is required. Not to mention its eye catching design, the Multi Modal is the answer to all your security issues.

Second on the line-up, we have the LX Series, fingerprint identification access controller and reader. The LX Series is designed to deliver seamless Time & Attendance solution. It is equipped with variety of useful T&A features such as 12 function keys, multiple language support and voice display, serial printer port for event ticket issuing and more. In addition, LX series comes in luxurious design and vibrant colors to draw attention of the users.

Up next is the FINGER Series, the fingerprint identification access controller and reader. The FINGER series products have been IDTECK’s best selling products for more than a decade as it boasts robust features and superb performance as well. The FINGER Series products have been sold to and are currently being used in over 70 countries worldwide. You can tell that it is a great product by the total number of the products sold over the years and the fact that customers keep coming back for more.

Last but not least, the FGR Series access controller and reader are the perfect solution for those who are looking for a simple security solution using fingerprint. Don’t let the word, “simple” fool you, as the product possesses great security features encrypted with the latest biometrics technologies, while still being easy to install and easy to use.

Has this been a good year for the company and can you please highlight some of the milestones?

IDTECK
Although the global economic crisis has affected us all, we still managed to conduct several large security products in Korea and other countries around the world. The major projects that we have conducted this year have been a stepping stone to leaping into competition with other large security name brands in the market. We are delighted by the fact that customers chose our brand over other name brand products as it proves the competitiveness of our product in the marketplace.

As for the biggest accomplishment of 2009, we signed an ODM partnership deal with one of the globally renowned companies and the ODM product developments are currently under way.

Which vertical market segments are you focusing on?

IDTECK
Our company is not focused on one particular vertical market segment. Yet, we tend to set our focus on providing the highest level of security for large scale areas such as government and military facilities, laboratories, intelligent buildings, school campuses, medical institutes and others, where the role of the security plays a crucial factor. As the ‘one-stop solution’ provider, IDTECK offers a wide range of security products to meet the requirements of any application. Our multiple product lines of access control systems are available for integration with CCTV, fire and alarm systems, and BAS systems, to provide the highest security measures. We try to provide a one of a kind security solution to cover every aspect of our customer’s security needs. From designing to deployment of the security system to fit the requirement, we continuously assist our customers with upgrades and after sales maintenance.

Can you please review a recent deployment for us?

IDTECK
We conducted several domestic and overseas projects in 2009. From simple security systems for college campuses to unique applications using our long range products, there are too many to mention them all.

One of the most memorable domestic projects that we have conducted in the previous year was the Daegu Metropolitan Transit project. Many people might not be aware of Daegu, but it is one of the largest cities in Korea, next to Seoul and Busan. Not only it was an important national project supervised by the Korean government, but also the scale of the project was quite large as it had to ensure the safety of thousands of metro users in Daegu. IDTECK’s security solution permitted real time central monitoring of other facilities around the transit stations, which became the main solution of safety and security measure of this heavily populated area.

Another project was providing the access control system for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Turkey. This project required special measures because not only did it call for an access control system that has large capacity to facilitate a large number of users, it also required top of the line security features to protect its people and assets affiliated with important international matters. The deployment was a success as the administrators of the ministry building were very satisfied with the security system and so were we.

Where do you see the biometrics market in 5 years and what will the technology be capable of then?

IDTECK
The Biometrics market has definitely come a long way. Biometrics products are now seen on entry points of many business buildings and other facilities, not to mention the various application usages. Although I have heard some people mention that the biometrics market is on the verge of maturity, I still see a lot of room for the biometrics market to grow and the market still possesses a great amount of potential. So far, we have only single or double combination of biometrics identifications, but we can expect to see multiple combinations of biometric identification in the near future. Biometrics will continue to improve in the next few years and we will be able to see things that are far beyond our imagination to provide the highest security features.

What can we expect to see from IDTECK in the coming year?

IDTECK
Our number one priority always has been customer satisfaction. Our efforts to provide our customers with the best service and products will continue in the coming year.

It is equipped with the latest features that can’t be duplicated by other competitors. We are very excited about the release of this product and would like to advise you to keep your eyes and ears open for the release of this sensational product.

We are also introducing the iMDC, the access control panel that is capable of controlling up to 32 doors. I believe that the security industry has been waiting for an access controller with large management capacity like iMDC. It will be released with a compatible software program, ENTERPRISE, intended for management of large sized businesses.
We also upgraded the technical features and applied the latest designs on the existing access controller and reader products to meet the standards of the fast paced security industry.
