Minneapolis, MN - Verifications, Inc., a leading provider of global employment screening and applicant management services, and technology partner Advantage Biometrics Group, a leader in Live Scan technology, today announced the release of Verifications’ enhanced electronic fingerprinting solution that allows employers to electronically submit fingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or applicable state agency. The solution combines a nationwide network of electronic Live Scan devices with a web-based management interface that enables employers to initiate, track and manage the electronic fingerprinting process right from their desktop.
In recent years, federal agencies have mandated that certain individuals in regulated industries such as banking, finance, securities and transportation undergo a fingerprint-based search of the FBI’s National Crime Information Center database (NCIC). Additionally, many states are now requiring fingerprint-based searches through their own state criminal records database or FBI database for certain positions in the healthcare and/or education industries.
It’s an end-to-end solution that seamlessly collects fingerprints, submits them to the applicable agency and returns results through an intuitive web-based interface tailored to each employer.
Verifications’ electronic fingerprinting services help employers meet these requirements. A national network of electronic fingerprinting stations allows quick and easy collection and submission of fingerprints to the FBI or applicable state agency. Results are retrieved electronically in a matter of days rather than weeks typical of manual processes. Decreasing the time between the job offer and the employee onboarding process limits the risk of losing in-demand candidates and allows employers to quickly transition new hires to productive employees.

The web-based interface is key to the product’s ease-of-use. Employers can track submissions, generate management reports and archive fingerprinting records and rap sheets. The custom web-portal provides 24/7 access to fingerprinting data and streamlines information sharing by allowing administrators to delegate access to key stakeholders.
Verifications also leverages its background screening expertise when conducting follow-up research. In some cases, FBI rap sheets contain incomplete case information. For example, an arrest may be shown but no disposition is included. If an electronic fingerprinting search requires additional research, Verifications can conduct disposition searches by sending a field researcher to the originating jurisdiction to look for additional case information.
